On April 22nd, 2014 I adopted on cutie patootie doggy. I took her into work immediately and many of you met her. She was only 12 pounds but her energy was big, HUGE. People asked about her all the time, looked for her the moment they walked into Nuurvana, were certain to get their cuddles in with her before they left. She was SO impactful.
Death and LOVE ~ eh hem, Time and Space Don’t Exist

On April 22nd, 2014 I adopted on cutie patootie doggy. I took her into work immediately and many of you met her. She was only 12 pounds but her energy was big, HUGE. People asked about her all the time, looked for her the moment they walked into Nuurvana, were certain to get their cuddles in with her before they left. She was SO impactful. People that were traditionally scared of dogs loved her. People I’ve never met who work out of the same St. Denis building ask about her all the time! She was LOVE embodied. Like most dogs, she was LOVE in it’s purest form.

All of 41 days later little Eenie got severely ill with a bacterial infection. On June 9th, 2014 I watched as her spirit left her body. I’ve never experienced such a thing. While she was at complete peace and the most serene I’ve ever seen her, I was/still am a weeping a mess. She left her body with such grace, I couldn’t help but get the feeling, “this all makes sense. It has to be this way.” Of course, this is soooo not how I want it, but that’s a whole other blog post.

WE ARE SO MUCH BIGGER THAT OUR BODIES AND SO MUCH GREATER THAT OUR LIFETIMES.  The amount of impact we are able to make is incredible, regardless of how much time we’re given with another person or in a situation!!!  Our bodies are shape and form.  We’re bigger than that!  Our age exists on a linear timeline we all collectively agreed upon to make our lives and relating to one another easier- we are so much greater than that!  I continue to experience this through Eenie.  She is so much more than 12 pounds and her impact is so much greater than 41 days worth of time.  Energy is bigger than time or space could ever conceive of.

The day I returned to work after she passed, the Nuurvana Center had turned into a beautiful garden.  So many flowers, cards, and warm sentiments – THANK YOU!- over a doggy most had only ever met a few times.  Clients waiting for other practioners would ask me about her and I would think, “you’ve likely only really spent all of 1-2 minutes with her in passing, as she’s always in the treatment room with me.  Even if you’ve been coming in weekly for the past 7 weeks, that’s at most a total of 14 minutes,” yet they’d all tear up when I told them the news.  14 minutes?!  And you’re THIS heartbroken over her?!   It’s cuz time and space are simply constructs of the human mind.  When we are tapped into the LOVE vibration and energy frequencies of life we transcend time and space.  We enter the realm of infinite possibilities, where we are all one, we are all love, and love is all there is.

Think about your first kiss, the first time you held hands with a special someone, that moment when you get lost in your partner’s eyes – it’s infinite, yeah?  It’s so much greater than a few seconds or minutes.  Can’t you access all the sensations of that moment right here and now by simply thinking about it?  It’s love-consciousness and it’s all there is- whether we are tapped into it or not.  Moments of innocent intimacy – like that first kiss – help us surrender to it.  Isn’t it cool that you can experience all that peace and bliss right here and now even though that kiss ended years and years ago?!  LOVE!!! It’s that powerful.  It’s an energy current- not a feeling.  It’s all there is.

Eenie powerfully reminded me of that.  I believe she reminded you of that, too ;).  It’s why we haven’t really lost her.  Our relationships with those who pass simply transform.  They don’t end.  Amiright?  The body has an expiration date.  The soul is infinite.  Love reminds us of that.  It’s so profoundly beautiful.

I thought this when the incredible Maya Angelou passed.  Think of how many lives she’s impacted and will continue to impact til the end of time.  Her wisdom and LOVE is beyond time and space.  Think of Dr. Martin Luther King, Mother Teresa, John Lennon, their bodies expired years ago but their impact on the world will continue on forevs and always.

WE ARE INFINITE.

Let’s honor our true selves by tapping into this love-consciousness as often as we can, shall we?  Try and expand moments of bliss for as long as you can.  Remind yourself of how much you love yourself.  Remind your loves of how much you love them.  Be gentle with yourself and others.  Try choosing compassion over judgement – even thoughts as seemingly trivial as, “I can’t believe she’s wearing that,” disconnect us from that love-consciousness.  When living in LOVE is so expansive, blissful, pure and true, I’m not entirely sure why anyone would choose otherwise.  Even when in the depths of pain and suffering, try and bring this love-consciousness in and focus on what makes your heart sing.  It will brighten up your life and contribute to a brighter, peaceful, more infinite world.  May all beings be at peace, cuz really, what else are we *living* for?   May we all embody LOVE and truly actualize our significance, just as a doggy named Eenie has.
